The Gay Easter Parade is back!
After a long 2 year wait, Easter Parade Grand Marshals James Garner of the Golden Lantern and Dominique DeLorean of Oz will finally get their parade! Picked as Grand Marshals in 2020 they will lead the 21st Annual Gay Easter Parade this year on April 17th at 4:30 pm.
Each year, the Parade is used as a fundraiser for charity and this year is no different. After the expenses associated with the Parade are paid, all the surplus funds from the Parade’s fundraising efforts will once again be donated to Food for Friends, a division of CrescentCare. Here is the schedule of fundraisers for this year’s Gay Easter Parade:
Easter Parade Sponsor Party and Spring Fever, March 20th from 2 – 5 pm at Betty’s Bar.
Eggstravaganza Brunch, March 27th from 11 am – 1:30 pm at the Golden Lantern.
Star Studded Extravaganza Drag Show, April 3rd from 6 to 8 pm at Oz.
The Marsha Delain Purple Party, April 9th from 7 to 10 pm at Crossing.
Bunnies in the Big Easy, April 15th from 6:30 to 9 pm at CrescentCare.
I want to take this opportunity to personally thank the members of the Gay Easter Parade Advisory Board who make all these fundraisers possible. Members of the board include Tony Leggio, Electra City, Anthony Lala, Jr., Arthur Severio, Henry Marshall and Darrin Duplissey. They each are helping to coordinate the multiple fundraisers that lead up to Easter. They donate their time, talents and money to help make each of these fundraisers a success. It is no easy task to pull off so many consecutive fundraisers and have them all be successful yet the members of the GEP Advisory Board not only do it but make it look easy.
